If you know the child you should talk to her parents about a couple of treatments. Right now EMDR might be helpful. Later when she's older there is a program called Living Waters. It is a program that helps people see the wrong ideas they have about themselves as a result of abuse. It is not really therapy it is a weekly group meeting where a speaker comes and tells people about how they struggled with ideas about themselves that were negative and why those ideas were not right. There is a weekly reading and workbook section to complete also. It takes about 6 months but it is well worth the time. I was the victim of an evil person like that when I a child. It took me about 25 years to find Living Waters. That was a huge help but I feel like the EMDR helped me to get to a point of day to day normalcy. I am so sorry for the child this horrible witch hurt. I hope that she will get the help she needs. EMDR will help her process the traumas and help relieve the PTSD that she will experience. It's so sad that people like Amanda Thompson exist.
